Camelback Mountain's view is strikingly beautiful at any time you enter the lobby of Mountain Shadows, a luxurious mid-century modern resort. While it would have been nice to have that same view from my suite, I was more than happy to have even a partial view of the mountain. Seeing it at sunset and sunrise was truly mesmerizing. Allow me to paint the picture……..

Sunrise brings a softer radiance. Pale peach and pink gather along the horizon, outlining the mountain before the sun appears. As daylight spills across the slopes, rocky contours emerge from blue-purple shadow, catching touches of copper and gold. The landscape gradually awakens, its rugged edges revealed beneath a brightening sky.

As the sun slips behind Arizona’s mountains, the sky deepens from warm gold to fiery orange, rose, and violet. Jagged ridgelines become dark silhouettes against the glowing horizon, their outlines sharp even as the valleys dissolve into shadow. The last light lingers above the peaks, a string of color slowly fading into dusk.
